Who Do They Think They're Kidding?

Having a cold, I don't fancy cooking. On Monday I pulled the above out of the freezer. I hate frozen Salsbury steak but Shawn loves 'em. Go figure. While the paper container holding the fake steak rotated boringly in the microwave, I happened to notice there were grill lines on the "steaks". I checked the box to see if they were apparent there as well.

How odd, I thought. Who in their right mind would place soy based fake steak on a grill? More importantly, who in their right mind would believe that these over processed, soy based "steaks" had been placed on a grill?

I mean, who do they think they're fooling?

Suddenly I felt that the folks at Banquet must think I am extremely stupid, that they don't think very much of my intelligence at all. Well, I did buy this product after all. How smart could I be?

On the other hand, Shawn walks in and sees the box and goes, "Oooooh! Cool! We're having that tonight?!" And for $1.99, you can't buy that kind of excitement anywhere else.

I had previously written about the elusion of The Box Photo on food products regarding Tostinos pizzas. The link to that post is http://laughtillupee.blogspot.com/2007/09/false-advertising.html

Aptly titled False Advertising, I was never suprised by the lack of cheese on a 98 cent pizza, but I was shocked when, after years and years of eating Tostinos, I happened to notice that the photo on the box appeared as though a pound of cheese were placed on the crust.

And who do they think they're kidding by putting that much "sausage" on the pizza photo?!!!

Did you ever see that movie Falling Down? Remember the part where Micael Douglas goes into the fast food place and orders a burger, then screams that he wants one that "LOOKS LIKE THE ONE IN THE PICTURE!!"

Mark my words, someone's gonna go postal in a frozen food packing plant one day. As for me, I do not even want the salsbury steak in the photo. It still looks like the same old leaves-a-nasty-taste-in-your-mouth-for-days fake steak. You're not fooling me, Banquet. You're not fooling me....

I often wonder who paints the stripes on non-grilled frozen food.

Do them have a union? Is it insulated?
