Breaking the Silence

My oldest nephew, Dylan age 14, got saved Thursday, July 12, 2007. I am so proud of him! His grandmother said she knows it is for real and that he knows what he is doing. She said she had been praying for him for so long. I think several of us had been.

I may have mentioned before that half of the family is not speaking to the other half. You'd think something like this might bring us together.

You'd think so anyway. The last time certain people were not speaking, it went on for several months and the only reason these people began speaking again was because one of them was involved in a motorcycle accident. People only really tend to make conversation when they're forced into a tiny hospital room together.

I kinda doubt that good things happening is gonna give us a reason. Baptism ain't gonna get these people together, no sir. For this family to come together once again, it's probably gonna take something drastic like the total destruction of a vehicle, some broken bones, and at least one night in the hospital.

I suppose I'll get around to telling the story sometime. I don't think I've cooled off enough myself to make it funny, or even light.

I swore to Shawn last year that I would start my Christmas shopping in June so I didn't have to fight the crowds and lose out on that Christmastime feeling again. It's July now and I am not even sure who to buy for. I don't know who's homes we're going to this year.

I just don't feel like being funny anymore.
