Crummy Week

On Monday, someone left a pen in a pocket and it exploded onto 7 pieces of dry cleaning while in the machine. Counter people are supposed to stick their hands into the pockets. As a last barrier, I quickly pat down the pockets. Don't have time to dig into every pocket.

I missed that one. I fixed 5 pieces, good as new, still working on one, and the last piece, well...it didn't make it. We resuscitated many times, but the shirt flat lined on me.

"I've found all sorts of things this week. Chapstick, used tissue, candies, cough drops...."
"Find any money?" Mike asks.
"I've found 5 cents so far."

Let's see, burned my foot, stuck my index finger, dead microwave, Best Buy....
First thing this morning, something bled pink on my first light color load. I easily fixed everything, good as new, but it was a pain in the butt. Then I lost $5

I was telling Mike about it. "Where did you lose it?" he asked.
"Some where between the laundromat and 7-11," I replied.
"Misty, you darn lucky to have such a good friend!" Mike said as he pulled $5 from his pocket. "It was under the folding table."
Ah ha! Where I had my basket. Mike IS a good friend.

The crummy day began to look promising. Allan, the boss asked me to make an announcement regarding a meeting during break time tomorrow morning.

Sigh. I had a whole shtick ready, was about to get on the speaker, ready to make everyone laugh till they peed a little. I was slightly excited because I've never used the speaker. Liz quickly stopped me. The owner was upstairs, she said; better not!

So I simply made the announcement in a flight attendant fashion. I had a whole Blue Light Special thing ready too...

Not looking forward to meeting. Summer is usually slow business for us and I have a funny feeling it's a chewing out meeting due to business not being as it was in December. Tomorrow is gonna be crummy. Can't wait till this week is over.

I hate getting chewed out. I need some ice cream.

Me too! Maybe a trip to the movies will cure your blues ;-) Can I recommend the Bourne Ultimatum?

We usually go to the movies once in a while to see big action films like LOTR. Stuff just looks better blowing up on the big screen. Tommorow we have plans to see The Simpsons--a rare treat!
