Right of Way

They've been working on expanding the 31st Street bridge since, I dunno, FOREVER, so the walking and bike lane has been torn out oh--FOREVER!

Yesterday I was in the left lane when the car next to me started to slowly come toward me, as if to come into my lane--only I was IN it, going 35 mph.

I looked over to see a dude pedaling away on his bike in the right lane.

I took and passed my Driver's Education course only nine years ago so some (not much) of it is still fresh in my head. Correct me if I am wrong, but if a dude pedaling away on his bike is in the lane, aren't you supposed to treat the biker as a vehicle? I mean, you don't attempt to cause wrecks or the vehicle next to you to veer into ON-COMING TRAFFIC because you just HAVE to get around the biker!!

AM I RIGHT??? TELL ME I AM WRONG!!! I HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF ROAD RAGE RIGHT NOW AND I REALLY DO NOT FEEL LIKE BEING FORCED INTO ON-COMING TRAFFIC!!!!!!

Ok, take deep breaths....apply the break....another deep breath...there we go. All better now. HEY! DID YOU JUST GIVE ME THE FINGER?? OH I KNOW YOU JUST DIDN'T!

Relax.... Breathe in...out. Lord, I just know I'm gonna end up in jail over one of these fools one day.
