Do YOU Get an Award??

It seems like ever other week there's an event to hand out little statues to celebrities. They get to get all dressed up, ride in limos, attend fancy parties with fancy dinners...

For what? For doing their jobs. I don't get an award for just doing my job. It's bad enough that these people get paid millions of dollars to do just one job. Maybe I want an Oscar or a Tony or a Golden Globe!

Actually, I'd be pretty much content with just getting 20 million to work for 3 months.


Celebrities are too celebrated. People care too much about who's dumping who, who's dating who, who's cheating on who, who's having a baby...

Who cares? But just look at the magazine racks. There are more about celebrity gossip than there are mags about news or current events, or even the ones that tell you what sort of make up and clothes to buy.

Still, wouldn't it be nice to get a fancy award for being the best oil change guy at the 10 minuet place, or the best Wal-Mart cashier? I think we should do something about this. We should organize a comittee to put together The Little Guy Awards. And since Little Guys can't afford a Vera Wang dress, Tuxedos and dresses (and seamstresses to let everything out) would be donated by celebrities who had previouslt attended some big award show.

Try putting that into a magazine.
