Back on Track

Ok, I am back!! Have been very busy, and a little freaked out, to say the least. Getting over my cold and (finally) went to the doctor today to get some anitbiotics for my bladder infection (yeah!).

Car was backed into by a neighbor (more on that later), my nephew is a really great football player (I don't have my own kids so I brag on other people's) and my retarded dog seems a little less retarded.

So at least I'm making progress.

Some tidbits:

About three years ago Shawn went on call in his maintainence man job and was freaked out all the time. His pager would go off every time he sat down to eat dinner, step into the shower, drift off to a night's sleep, etc.

So he went off on-call and went back to his previous hourly pay. It was offered again to him. He's considering it pretty hard.
"Is it worth it to be miserable and make me miserable?" I asked.
"It will be if I ask for a [x amount] raise!" he laughed.
He suprised me with his number so I said, "Well that should pay for the divorce!" I joked.

See, when he was on-call before, it he was pretty miserable. I was miserable, the dog was miserable. On Thanksgiving Day he was paged to fix a toilet. He called the manager to see if actually had to do it since there were TWO toilets in this particular apartment. And yes, he had to go. As the rest of us sat down to a ginat turkey dinner, Shawn unclogged a toilet.

This is why he's going to ask for a [x amount] raise if he decides to do it.

It's that time again. The polictcal commercials all over the TV! One says, "Chet Edwards voted to give food stamps to illegal immigrants."
Another says, "Edwards did not vote to give illegal immigrants food stamps."

Um, I have a question. Why were they even voting to give food stamps to illegal immigrants. Illegals don't even pay taxes.

Come, get comfortable, and aliens eat for free. Ah, land of the free indeed. Everything's free here if you don't mind being a lazy bum.
