Do You Tip Your Doctor Graciously?

In my previous post, I mentioned that wait staff are paid on average a whopping $2.15 an hour for their job. Therefore, you are expected to tip them a standard 15% of your total bill.

Why? Why should I tip you for doing a job you're supposed to be doing anyway? You don't make enough dough to feed yourself? Well, I didn't tell you to take this job!

Why should I tip the pizza delivery boy? He makes as much money as I do per hour and probably has better benefits than I do--which is none. I get a week's vacation that pays $100. Yeah, a week's "paid" vacation on a waitress' salary and I don't even tips for handling doody and bloody crotches. (See recent posts--I'm a dry cleaner)

Many restaurants are considering "conveinently" adding a 20% tip to the bill AUTOMATICALLY without even telling you. You have to specifically tell the manager if you'd like the tip reduced or removed completly.

Gee, thanks for making my life so conveinent. We rarely eat out, but even still, this is an outrage. Whee does it stop? Will I see a tip jar at the dotor's office? Like they don't already have their hands down my wallet!

Where did it all begin, anyway? Who started all this? I think you should apy for what you bought. Good service should be expected not bargained for. You shouldn't pay extra because your waitress got your order correct--that's her job!!

And is she's happy making $2.15 an hour, leave her be. I could probably get a better paying job myself but I think instead, I'll began demanding tips. If I get the stain completely out, that means I deserve a 15-20% tip because I don't make enough and I have no benefits. Starting Monday, there shall be a glorious tip jar at the registers that states, "Tip your dry cleaner!" and I'll not report a single dime to the IRS.
