Who's idea was it to put pasta and meat in a can, anyway? Ugh.
Vegetables is one thing. You can put pretty much any kind of veggie or fruit in a jar or can with a little water and salt, open it in the year 2467 and it would still be tasty.
But pasta? Meat?
Maybe it's because I ate so much of it as a kid. My parents both worked full time, one on the day shift, one on nights. We often fended for ourselves, choosing from a wide variety of frozen burittos, Hot Pockets, and anything out of a can or a box (just add water).
Why am I complaining? Because I ate some canned raviloi today. It just tastes... Odd. For one thing, you just can't put pasta in a can and have it taste like true pasta. Or even boxed dry pasta. And meat? Don't even get me started.
At least I had lunch in 45 seconds due to the miracle of the microwave. Conveinence vs taste? You guess. I was home alone and it's a Sunday. I was honoring the Sabbath by avoiding cooking.
