We took the last week off, which with the weekends meant we had a full 9 days off from work. Today is our last day and I am NOT looking forward to getting up at 4:30 am tommorow. We've enjoyed air conditioning, ice cream, sleeping in and being just all around lazy.
I was sure I would have gained weight just lounging around and eating like I was on a cruise ship--but I haven't. And yet, I just feel fat. I feel like 200 pounds of lazy! I haven't done anything this whole week!
I haven't even cleaned. I thought it might be better to just let the spiders take over. They seem to be killing more flies and moths than I ever could anyway. Well see there? It worked out! But don't expect it to last too long--once I get back my momentum, say goodbye to the spiders and their webs and the dirt and the dust.
In some sad way I'll be glad to get back into the swing of things--to end the day feeling like I've accomplished something, like sweat 4 gallons! It was sure nice to be home but working makes you appreciate the finer things in life such as The Weekend. And for married couples, well all I can say is distance makes the heart grow fonder!
Oh, it wasn't too bad. I remember a few years ago when Shawn and I spent almost our entire vacation screaming at each other. When we weren't fighting--we weren't speaking at all. Though being on vacation did remind me why I hate driving with Shawn in the passenger seat.
He has to grab the Oh [S-Word] Bar and constantly get on me: "There's a cop. Hold up! He's turning! He's slowing down. Why don't you take this road? It's quicker that way. There's a cop."
And so on, and so on.
Yeesh, when I go back to work, Martha's on vacation for a whole TWO weeks and I'm not as quite as used to the 103 degree heat as I should be. I'm gonna be dying tommorow!
I need to get on Deal or No Deal...
