In July of 2005, the city opened a free-to-the-public "splash park". It's basically a giant slab of concrete with fountains and sprays and whatnot with sensors on them. When you walk in front of a sensor, it squirts water on you.
I heard from a little birdie that it costs the city (i.e. us regular folk) about $3,000 a month to operate. And that's with the water recylcling system. Hope nobody pees in the water.
