Ok, I know I've touched on this subject before but I have more. I said once before that's basically retarded to advertise the post office and milk.
What's milk?
Exactly.
So here's a thought I had the other day as I watched yet ANOTHER commercial for McDonald's.
Things probably wouldn't cost so much if companies didn't spend so much on advertising. Think of it: Companies hire out advertising agencies, spend hundreds of thousands (if not millions) on the commercials themselves, by producing and airing.
It costs how many trillions to air a 30-second ad during the Super Bowl?
Perhaps there are people out there that really don't know that the post office exists. However I'd be willing to put money on it that every single man, woman, and child knows about McDonald's.
McDonald's owns more real estate than any other company in the entire world. That's a little freaky. I realize they have to advertise their new products but lately all the new products have ben, yelch, salads.
I am quite aware that I can and pretty much was always able to obtain a salad from McDonald's. Don't take away my right as a free American to Super Size!
Perhaps I could get that salad for less than $5 if they didn't spend so much on advertising.
And what about Super Sizing? Eating out is a treat for us so we don't go out for salads. I have all the fixin's for a great salad right here at home. I wanna Super Size!
While we're on that topic, Starbucks has been getting blasted is for it's sugar-and-fat drinks.
You know what? If I choose to spend $4 for a cup of coffee loaded with sugar and cream, that's my right to do so.
To be quite honest, I've had the Starbuck Strawberry Frappacino about three times and once with a free gift card. So I spent like six bucks there.
Of course I did figure out how to make the same drink at home with a blender so that was the end of that. But as an educated person (ha ha) I automatically know that drink is probably filled with sugar and fat; that's why I don't have one every single day.
I heard someone on TV say that there are some that are lobbying for cities to build more parks and bike trails because if there were more parks, people would walk more--therefore solving the "obesity epidemic". What, the fatties aren't able to walk without cities building parks?
Using our precious (ha ha) tax dollars on parks is going to solve this so-called epidemic? Are people going to ride their HoveRound out their front door, to the car, drive to the park, ride the HoveRound to the walking path, then, UGHN, get up and start walking?
Nope. I've been walking since I was nine months old and I've never walked in or through a park.
Scrath that--I've walked through amusement parks. That's what we need more of.
