Something Else to Ponder

Accents. Everyone in this country originated from somewhere else. Let's examine the settlers. They spoke with a British accent, which they in turn passed on to their children and so on.

How did we lose our accents?

My dad's parents spoke Czech. Dad never spoke with an accent. He has a slight drawl and says "y'all" and "ain't".

It's baffling.
