Mechanically De-clined

I give a new menaing to the term Handicapable. I'm not exactly what'd you'd call mechanically inclined. I have no common sense when it comes to fixing things. Shawn picks at me about it and can also drive me crazy.

However, I have had a few finer points of mention that I think should have made national news.

When I sewed up the little doggie bed, the sewing machine took a turn for the worse. It took an hour, but I fixed it, knowing nothing at all about the mechanical make up. Shawn, of course, wanted to butt in and drive me nuts by telling me what I was doing wrong, but I never gave him the chance.

And lo and behold! I fixed it! It's slightly rigged but it works well and I didn't need Shawn's help.

I tend to go through vaccuum cleaners like most people go through paper plates. I buy the cheapest one and run it into the ground. See, if I could skip a year buying a vaccuum, I could get a really nice model that might not crap out on me in 9 months!

Anywho, last week the vaccuum took a dump and so I attempted to fix it only when Shawn wasn't home.

My last vaccuum was easy. Remove 4 screws and wham! You're at the roller so you can pull out the hair and junk. My newer vaccuum has a label that says, "Easy on and off brush roll!"

This was a huge selling point for me, since there's usually enough hair to make a wig stuck in it after a couple weeks' use.

Good grief! Once I finally got into the thing, I quickly realized it was the cheapest vaccuum I had ever bought. I have never seen the guts of a vaccuum put together like this, and I've seen a lot of vaccuum guts!

After an hour, I did fix the stupid thing. There was hair wrapped around the motor shaft, no biggie, but getting to it and getting it off was murder.

No, really! The stupid casing pinched my leg when I was trying to pry it apart and left a huge bruise. I couldn't pry it open again so I just yanked it off, pulling a little skin with it.

Easy on/off brush roll my butt!!
