About the BMI Thing...

In a comment in the BMI posts, someone said, "We don't need to know everything," or something like that.

I'll explain. It's a running theme. If you haven't noticed, I am COMPLETELY obsessed with the weight thing and I think it's COMPLETELY unfair that Shawn can eat and eat and eat....and lose 2 pounds. Must be that Mars vs Venus thing.

My Mom works for a company that delivers magazines to stores. She takes the old ones off the racks, replaces them with the weeks' new ones. She always buys Woman's World. It's a cheapie weekly mag for a little over a buck and she says she's promoting her job security.

HA!

Mom gives me the mags when she's done reading them and I noticed something, besides the cute little stories. EVERY SINGLE WEEK on the cover of this particular mag is the topic of diet! So I asked Mom:

"Is it like that every week?"

"Yep, and sadly, that's why people buy 'em," she said.

"How do they come up with a new diet EVERY week?" I asked.

She laughed. "Yeah, I know. Eat all you want, Lose all you want."

"Lose 20 lbs in 20 weeks..." I retorted.

"Look great eating oranges..." she mused.

"Lose wieght eating only sugar!" I laughed.

But it's completely true and people are buying into it. Somewhere, there is a table of people sitting around just thinking of new diet plans, EVERY WEEK. And it's on the cover EVERY WEEK. (and they get paid to do this) Here's a diet plan for ya and it won't cost nothin':

GET OFF YER LAZY BUTT AND GO FOR A WALK! (and not to the McDonalds on the corner)

Think that'll put these magazines outta business? Nah, me neither.
