The Birthday Party

I ordered the cake on Wednesday and picked it up on Saturday morning. "What's this?" I mumbled. "You got your mom a five dollar cupcake!" Shawn laughed.

I pointed to the cake style I wanted. I told the woman I wanted the 4 inch rectangular cake, the small one. Instead I got a giant cupcake. I hate that cake. I bought candles for it and everything! Only two black candles were used. I hate that giant cupcake.

It was also my oldest nephew's birthday so we simply celebrated both. His cake was better.

Mom would positively KILL me if she knew I'd used this photo. She was holding the shirt up and trying to scratch her face at the same time, all while laughing out loud. We got her the shirt that says, "I Got This Shirt When I Turned 50.....(I hate this shirt)"

Cake, helium-filled balloons, T-shirt, CD, box of chocolates and a homemade slide show.....but the shirt was her fave. She raved about the cake. I hate that cake.

Of course we all had fun with the balloons later. Everyone laughed about the cake, mostly about how peeved I was regarding the cake. I'm calling it The Great Cake Debacle of 2007. I hate that stupid giant cupcake!

So... how was the cake? :-P

I should be sleeping but I'm reading your blog instead. The beauty of naps and coffee when you wake up. Hope things are going well, sounds like a fun party!

The cake was awful. And I'm not just saying that because I was angry at the cake. However, Mom said it was very good and it was all my imagination that it was awful.

I sure hope so for $5

No, wasn't a fun party. Fun at first, then depressing. Then fun again. Then depressing. Blame my sister. At least she remembered Mom's birthday this year.

I really gotta find my way outta this cynical mood.
