I'm With the Band

On the radio some people were discussing what was on their MP3 players. One guy asks this chick, "So, do you do iTunes or Napster?"

She replies, "NO! I buy the CD. I want to support the band, you know?"

Me too. I concur. I just feel so sorry for these big name rock stars because they're not making the $3 million per month that they should. I mean, let's face it, ever since Napster came on the scene, the music industry has suffered completely.

Sure, I really want that song they play on the radio 37 times before lunch, and I know it's the only good song on the entire CD.....But yes, it is worth the $10 to $18 price on the CD and I really want to support the band, by golly.

I mean, here I am, struggling to fill up my gas tank and I can't imagine what the rock stars are going through. When they send their guy out to get gas in their Ford Explorer, do they run inside the store and hand the clerk a $20 to make sure they don't get more gas than they have cash in their pocket?

You have to feel bad for anyone in the music industry, especially the big namer, Metallica who collectively threw one of the biggest hissy fits over Napster, eventually leading to Napster charging 99 cents a song. Far be it for me to "steal" music when I can hear it for free over the radio. And gee whiz, these guys must really be hurting in their gated communities. Can they even afford to pay the pool guy?

So even if you think having that stolen song on your player might make work go a little smoother today, I'd advise that you put a little less gas in your car, save up for 4 weeks and go ahead and buy that lousy CD, even though there are starving people, children even, all over the world. If they can't take care of themselves, then why bother?

After all, you gotta support the band.

I have 300 count Egyptian sheets.

....rather ONE sheet I got on clearance, long ago. I got a fitted sheet and it. Is. So. SOFT.

I hate the rest of our sheets.

All of our other sheets are in a jealous rage.
