My Latest Time Wasters

Ech. I haven't watched a Blow Me Away movie in a looooong time. Here's the latest round up.

This movie is exactly as is seems. Stupid almost like a Naked Gun movie, just less funny. There's a couple of good laughs, just not enough to make it worth sitting through the entire movie.

Yeesh. No plot. No story. Bad writing, even worse acting and a VERY confusing love scene:

"I hate you!"
"I hate you too!"
"Let's make love on the stairs!"
"OK, I'm done. I hate you!"

The Bridge to Teribithia. I couldn't find a better pic, because apparently no one loved this movie. Based on a book and released in a time when fantasy movies are all the rage...

This movie is so not what I expected. While in theaters, the guys on the radio gave up the critical ending for me. If you've heard of the ending, don't feel so bad, it's not as depressing as it's made out to be.

What a disappointment! The ads on TV made me go, "I wanna see that!" Who doesn't love trolls and castles, and weird looking creatures? I thought THAT was the movie! Two kids invent a fantasy world and the way the ads play out, it made you think the movie was about the fantasy world.

It isn't. It SO isn't.

The Number 23 was actually not too bad. Jim Carrey surprised with his new suspense motif. It's about a guy who reads a book about a guy who becomes obsessed with the number 23. Everything adds up to 23; the letters in his name, favorite colors, diver's license numbers. We get to watch the characters in the book as though it's the movie.

Jim Carrey stated in the DVD bonus features the he in real life had become obsessed with the number 23. Not me though. I hate math. I suck at math. And yet, I really liked this film. Very smart and visually stunning. You never know what's gonna happen next.

Some say that numbers are divine, of God. God never changes, numbers never change. They are absolute. So why is it, even when using a calculator, I get different sums when trying to add up the same numbers? I hate math. God gave me the gift of sarcasm, not math.

I thought I might too begin to see the number 23 every where after becoming aware of it. You learn of it and begin to see it more, simply because you are looking for it. I didn't see the number 23 or any other numbers. I have, however, noticed that the letter R seems to keep jumping out at me.

Farce of the Penguins. Hmmm. I was falling asleep during the movie so that tells you something of my first impression of this film. Like Delta Farce, this movie has a couple laughs, not worth the hour and a half. Samuel L. Jackson is pretty funny, and that's about it. This is no family film, people so put the kids to bed. Some of the jokes are pretty filthy, however I did enjoy Carlos Mencia as the Juan Sanchez penguin in his search for treasure.

That's it for today, kiddies! I'll be watching Little Miss Sunshine this afternoon and maybe I'll let you know how it is. Or maybe not. Depends on how lazy I get today. For all the rest of us who can't go the theater on a daily basis, forget half the movies we wanted to see, and end up watching crappy movies that prompt us to say, "I want my two hours back," this is a review by an average working class nobody.
I don't paid to do this and I get no fulfillment from it. More reviews should be done by us nobodies. I trust nobodies to review my movies more than I trust people being paid WAY to much to do nothing but clock in, watch movies, then clock out.

The History of Violence was a decent movie and for a Croneberg movie not particularly weird for a change, LOL!

Still that love scene(?) on the stairs made my back hurt just watching it... I mean ok dude you wanna "do" it and you got a massive house.... Why choose those damn stairs then?

To admire the fine artistry of the carpentry up close and personal maybe, who knows:)

I thought that "Number 23" was a Michael Jordan biopic (not really...)!So damn you Jim Carrey damn you to numerical hell:)

The rest of the movies I dont have a personal opinion about so I will stir clear just because whatagem said so, yes I will:)

Later.
