Failure to Launch Movie Review

I'm not one to watch many chick flicks. Occasionally I do embrace my inner girly-girl and watch one. I loved The Devil Wears Prada, by the way. We got Showtime free for the weekend and there wasn't really anything on it--at all. Ooooh, makes me wanna pay $6.95 a month for it! Get serious.

A guy friend told me he liked Failure to Launch so I gave it a shot. In a word: Predictable. But that's to be expected.

The biggest problem I had with the movie was Sarah Jessica Parker's screaming. I remember it from watching reruns of Sex & the City on TBS. Sounds like a cockatiel being stepped on. If I was the director I'd be like, "OK, Sarah...I'm gonna be brutally honest here, may I be honest? Your scream is most annoying, wretched sound I've ever heard in my entire life and we need for you to not do it, OK?"

Parker's character is hired to pose as a lovable girlfriend to Matthew McSmoothChest to get him outta his parents house. You might guess she actually falls in love with him, he hates her, she apologizes, the happy ending end with the two in blissful love.

Well then you guessed right. Predictable. But there are some funny gags along the way. The roommate is excellent is this movie. The bit about the mockingbird is hilarious.

"I need a gun!"

I don't know who this chick is, but she was the highlight of the whole movie other than Terry Bradshaw and Kathy Bates as the parents. The nerdy guy from National Treasure also stars as...a nerdy guy.

Wow. The surprises just keep on coming there, don't they?

I love this movie! In fact I bought it this weekend. Though it has a lot to do with the delicious Matthew!

I liked this movie, too, but just like Steph I'm pretty sure it had tsomething to do with Matthew McCono-however you spell his name.
