Why Don't People Beat Their Kids Anymore?

I know I've commented on this subject before, but darn it, people just keep giving me reason to bring up again and again!

An airplane made an emergency landing in Philidelphia, forcing all passengers to stay the night. Why? Because a 4 year old child was throwing a tantrum and his parents did NOTHING to control him.

True story, I promise. They actually landed a plane because the parents would control or calm down a small child. Do we have to rely on the parents anymore? Let be on that airplane, I'll get the kid to shut up!

You know why dozens of folks were forced to be inconveinenced and delayed? Because we don't beat our kids anymore, that's why. We literally dump them at Wal-Mart while we go off to lunch (I've actually seen this here in town) We let them get away with anything.

We give them time-outs. We buy them toys because they are being noisy. We continue to buy them things until they're well into adulthood. You know how many adults I know or know through others that are still being supported by their parents?

Too many, if you ask me.

And why? Because we do not beat our kids! I was beaten and I turned out all right. Now, I am not saying my parents beat me to a pulp with closed fists; no, nothing like that. But I got spankings. I got punished. I didn't get sent to a room full of computers and cell phones. I got sent to a room with a few toys and a bed! I was yelled at and stuff was taken away from me until I agreed to behave. Privalages were revoked and my behind felt the swift fury of a leather belt.

But only my fleshy behind. I was never hit in the face or anywhere wlese on my body. And the belt was only used in extreme screw-ups. Kids that do not have disciple have no structure, nor any responsiblities for the rest of their lives because they tend to live off Mom and Dad.

I say let the belts loose, go cut a switch and take back society! Beat your kids for the sake of the future. I know I will when I have kids. I can't afford to support a 45 year old in the basement.
