Mom and Dad fought and argued for two months over this one. See, Dad is not really fond of turkey. Actually, none of us are unless it's been processed into think slices and placed between 2 slices of bread.
I told my parents that a friend of mine has a mother with a neat tradition. Since her children eat turkey at the in-law's every year, she makes homemade enchilada.
Dad argued that we should hace brisket for Thanksgiving. Mom fought him on it and asked us kids what we wanted:
"BRISKET!" we replied.
And so it was done.
This year, Dad suggested his famous homemade pizza. "OH YEAH!" I exclaimed.
"NO!" Mom said. "That's not thanksgiving, we're having turkey! We had brisket last year are you're not ruining my Thanksgiving!"
Dad and I groaned and gave up. Maybe we can have pizza next year. Today, Shawn and I get to eat turkey and mashed potatoes twice. Once at my mom's, and a second time at his mom's.
Sigh. Pizza sure did sound good.
