I was asking Cinnamon (yes, her real name) what was good, what worked. I was miserable. I'm on no sleep, I'm tellin' ya.
She suggested Starbucks Double Shot.
"What's that, like 3 bucks?" I snorted.
She nodded.
So I went next door to the 7-11 to see for myself. The Starbucks drink was about the same size as a can of catfood and cost $2.99 plus tax. I laughed out loud right there in the store.
I found some off brand coffee drink for $2.50
It was like lunch in a can with 260 calories (50 from fat) about 40 grams of sugar, God Only Knows How Much caffine and 2 servings per can.
I didn't read that last part until it was too late.
I was LITERALLY bouncing off the walls at work. Everyone was laughing at me and following that up with, "What'd you take? What'd you take?" Of course, 2 hours later I hit the wall.
At 75 mph.
I had a sugar crash like I've never had before. I felt like I'd taken a vikoden or something. I was suddenly walking around in a haze and fantasizing about a nap.
Yes, fantasizing about a nap.
Did I learn a lesson here? You bet I did.
Was it, try to get more sleep? Or eat better so I have more energy? Or maybe it was, don't down two servings of the equivalent of 10 cups of coffee?
No, no my friends. It was to stay away from 7-11 and their generic energy drinks.
Wal-Mart is way cheaper. Get the 4 pack and be wired for DAYS.
