July 4th went well; half our family didn't even come and I didn't get to bed too terribly late. The next day though, I was wrecked. I never had a hang over in my entire life, but I can imagine what it must feel like.
I'd had little sleep and my head pounded. After work, I had many errands that couldn't wait and I was about to tear my hair out at the grocery store over the crowds.
About 2 hours before the fireworks were to begin, it finally rained a little--a true belssing. The display was without, perhaps the city decided to put more money toward the JumboTron! But at least the wind wasn't blowing everything right over our house.
On the other hand, the newspaper said that the show in Fort Hood got rained out due to "gargantuan" rain.
What? When? We never get any gargantuan rain. The show is rescheduled for Saturday and I'm contemplating on going--though I just know I'll be wrecked again on Sunday. Maybe in 3 years when the Fourth of July lands on a Friday...
